Otaniemi

The Otaniemi campus area has several buildings and facilities that are suitable venues for seminars and congresses.

The four Aalto University schools of technology are based in Otaniemi in Espoo, 10 km from the center of Helsinki, on a campus designed by Alvar Aalto. Otaniemi has the highest concentration of high technology in the Nordic countries. A unique combination of education, study and business is densely packed into this small area.

Former Congress Centre Dipoli will serve as Aalto University's main building from autumn 2017 onwards. More information about Dipoli.

Prices

The facilities are mainly bookable during normal operating hours. Bookings outside normal hours and weekends can be negotiated separately. The facilities fall into price groups that can be found in separate venue tables. The actual prices can be found at terms and conditions.

Catering Services

In the Aalto University premises, catering services are provided by Fazer Amica Oy, Sodexo Oy and Antell Oy. The caterers in the specific buildings are listed in the table below. If necessary, we will make an offer for the catering service in the meeting in connection with the booking. As a rule, the caterers do not have a licence to sell alcohol.

Accommodation

The researcher hotel Aalto Inn provides accommodation in Otaniemi for attendees at meetings. The hotel rooms are homely, well-equipped flats.

Recreation

Walking on Campus

After the meeting or between the sessions is great opportunity to get to know the area of Otaniemi. Walking_on_campus (pdf) -brochure  invites you to familiarize yourself with the buildings, nature and stories in Otaniemi. Where is the most obvious ‘fifth façade’? Which building is located at Otaniemi’s highest elevtion? The campus is continuing to develop: the West Metro section will launch its operations, a new university building will be completed at Aino Square, and residential construction will be increased. Regional planning is directed by sustainable development and the goal is self-sufficiency in energy.
